Removing ATX Pins!!??

I have seen numerous people saying how easily they removed their pins from the ATX connectors but I am sat here with my 6 pin GPU cable and I am putting the straightened out staples right down the side and if I pull, the cable does not budge. Should I pull harder? Or should the pins come out easily?

If it makes any difference I am trying to do this to an OCZ PSU cable :/

Cheers

Are you doing it this way

Make sure you have two staples & push them down between the outside of the pin & the inside of the block.

There is only a small are of contact (the center) so you have to be accurate.
When the pin is released, the cable should pull out very easily (remember to leave the staples in place)

You can always purchase an extraction tool.

Thanks for the message and post, but I have done exactly as you say with no luck. Might have to bite the dust and just buy a tool.

I have noticed however that there is a small almost 'D' shape on one of the top edges of all the pins. Do all pins have this?

Here you are. Interesting thing is I have just tried the stapels with my 8 pin power extension for my CPU and it worked easily. Will try again on the 6 pin now.

Use a cork board pin, wiggle it down one side and then down the other, be patient and it'll work free. Push the cable up as you work the pins, don't pull.
