Removing Boot Splash Screen?

I've a fairly straightforward question. I've got a PC from an OcUK competitor, let's say they use an alien as their logo. Now, when I press the power button the first thing I'm greeted with is the POST beep, a big logo of that company, then after that's gone Windows Vista loading bar across the bottom of the screen.

What I want to do is get rid of the stupid alien head logo so that I can just have the regular splash screen. It's not a custom motherboard or anything so I thought maybe there's an option in Vista to use a custom splash screen and I need to remove the custom screen that they've pre-loaded. Any ideas?

Cheers. :)

That's part and parcel of your system BIOS. Ie I have an Dell system, when it boots up I have an Dell splash screen, there is nothing that I can do to get rid of it, except get an retail mobo. But, then my OEM software will not work with an retail board.

Might be an option in the bios to turn it off (usually is), what board is it? Probably a utility to modify the bmp file used

I'll go and have a look in the BIOS now, I haven't checked in there yet to be honest. I need to go set the clock again anyway. :p

Motherboard is an Asus P5N-D by the way.

Is it not an option in the bios to disable the splash screen, i know i had one with the Asus mobo i have.

Ooops, I've only just read your post properly. The first time I read it I thought you were saying that there wasn't an option to disable it in the BIOS. Doh!

Edit: Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. There was an option in the BIOS to enable or disable the full screen logo upon boot. I've just disabled it and now it's gone. :)
