Someone give me some guidance here please.

Would like to decorate my lounge before Christmas, trouble I had when i did my Hall was there was a border stuck on about 4" wide and I used my steamer on it but was still left with a glue type residue on the walls which was a pain in the backside to get off.

I have the same problem in my lounge, not started yet, just wondered if there was a easier way of getting it off as prepping the room is the main thing before painting.

How do you do it ? Some knowledge would be usefull, its a new house if that makes any difference.

Right, used a steamer and got the wall paper off. (Hair dryer did nothing)

Still left with a Glue residue though on the walls.

Any ideas ?
Trying Sugar Soap at the moment

This residue always happens on plasterboard walls. You need to rub it back with sand paper.

Yes it does take time but the prep is the hard bit. Alternatively you could cover it with lining paper, which is over-paintable.
