Removing/cracking the password for an MS Word file

you could download a demo -

http://www.lostpassword.com/word.htm

That will give you the first two characters of the password and you should be able to work out the rest.
I've used the access key cracker before and it worked very well (I had to unlock a database at work when someone at work left and passworded all our development databases !)

Why? Forum's are not just there to solve your problem you know?

To be honest, after I'd posted I wondered as to whether or not the strict rules on this forum would forbid the question. I've since checked the rules though and it appears to be ok.
