Removing desktop icons?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove program icons from my desktop without them being removed from other users desktops too?

I am using Vista Home Premium if that makes any difference.

They shouldn't be removed from all user's desktops unless you're deleting the icons from all users

I think it has something to do with the fact as administrator I installed the programs from my login & when I delete the icons from my desktop they are removed from all users but surely there is a work around?

Back them up then copy them back into their desktop folder?
