Removing Exterior Paint

Our front door is recessed and has 2 enclosed walls and a roof. The previous owners appear to have painted a non-breathable paint on these 2 walls which is causing a really annoying damp issue in my son's bedroom.

We've looked at sandblasting the walls to remove the pain, but the cost is too high as well as not knowing if the brick work would survive. We're now looking for some kind of alternative. This is starting to get really annoying as it's slowly damaging our solid oak flooring.

Is there a paint remover for this kind of thing?

Any help/suggestion would be gratefully appriciated

I used a heat gun on our painted sandstone sills and lintels
I also had to use Nitromors and a pressure washer to remove linseed oil that a dodgy builder had put on so thick that 12 months later it was still tacky

Heat gun.....industrial heat gun or just your standard £20 thing from B&Q?

All the above plus elbow grease

Yeah. That's just what I thought.

Not sure if we've got time now, we're having a sign off on Monday for the front door to be moved to the front of the recess. Don't think I'll get it done it a week!
