Removing Extra PSU Pins

Hi,

I have a modular PSU and my GPUs only require dual 6 pin connections however my PSU provides a 6pin and an optional 2pin on each cable.

Obviously this isn't a major issue and is just asthetical but would there be an issue if I remove the extra 2 pin cable or would it cause issues with the PSU?

Has anyone done this before.

PSU is a Seasonic Platinum 860W.

Can I ask why do you want to remove the pins? Appearance?

I'd just tape/tie the 2 pins so they're not sticking out and look messy, you may need them in the future for 8 pin connections.

Did your graphics card come with any connections to power the card? They might be just 2 x 6 pin connections.

Apart from what TheReaperGuy said, you will also lose your warranty. If it's just for looks buy some 6 pin PCI-e extenders such as these.

Yes purely from a point of being tidy.

I will probably just tape them.
