I was out cleaning my car today and i noticed on the front drivers side there is what looks like a patch of blue ink, its as if i have gone over a pen and it has burst over the wheel. I tried to get it off using hot water and meg car wash stuff but it wasnt for moving and i dont want to try using any alloy cleaning products as i have heard horror stories with them and bk 299 alloys.

Any ideas how i can get it off :(

Suncream can remove ink from news papers.
You could give that a go aswell if all else fails:)

You say that your alloys hate acid?
If so you need to use a base, toothpaste maybe? bi carb is one aswell Amonia is also a base.
I hope that helps :)

Try Mer car polish, it gets loads of things clean in and around the house as well as being a good car polish! I have been using it for years.

Think of all the carp that your wheels come in contact with when your driving. White spirit will get rid of it, and not damage your wheels.

petrol wont eat your alloys, nor will white spirit...

The BK299's are known for corroding quite severely. so The OP's worries are quite understandable.

Wipe on wipe off, simple. If it was hydrochloric acid I would be more understandable :) Test it in a very small non conspicuous area first.

hmm i've heard the toothpaste idea works so ill try that and see how i get on, failing that i have some meg nxt metal polish so i can try that

petrol or white spirit doesnt eat paint or laquer AND you only use a small amount on a cloth.
if his wheels were plastic, then it wouldnt be such a good idea :p

meths... failing that any alloy wheel cleaner which can demove break dust should see that ink off easily (are we talking about normal biro sort of ink?)
