Removing keyboard limit?

Hey

I'm just wondering if theres a way to remove the limit of how many keys you can press down at one time? Its been a problem on quite a few of my games now where i cant move propery because i've the controls i use.

I'm using a Saitek Eclipse, and some key combinations have no effect in game, however when i use this keyboard on my brothers pc, the controls are fine.

any ideas?

Don't think so.
Only USB keyboards you can press lots of buttons.

Thats the thing.. my Eclipse is USB.. so i guess theres some settings that are wrong somewhere? This keyboard works fine on my brothers rig

Oh ok I wouldn't know then, they require drivers don't they?

Iirc USB keyboards actually allow less simultaneous key presses (or used too) than the older type connectors (PS/2).

I used to be into building arcade machines and the preference was PS/2 keyboard encoders as USB ones had a pressed-switch limit of 6 switches (plus ctrl,alt,shift) as opposed to around 56 via PS/2.

So does anyone know if theres some sort of setting or a lil program i can download that'll sort out how many keys can be pressed?

Not sure if one came with your keyboard or not but you could try a USB-PS/2 adaptor. Off the top of my head I can't remember if the USB limitation was at the sending device or receiving controller bus.

If it's the latter then the adaptor would solve your problem..

Hmm are you sure, sorry if I'm wrong but I remember a thread about this. Also I cant press more than 4 buttons together on my PS/2

Hey, i've tried one of those before.. the leds didnt work and some of the keys didnt lol
