hello chaps,

I was wondering if there is a way to remove light scratches from my paintwork. When I say light, it's removed the paint but not the primer underneath. I was told that you can use something like a coloured polish to do this but I'm not convinced.

Short of taking it to the local bodyshop, is there anything I can do myself??

are you talking about one of those small paint pots from halfords mate??

If you can find one with your paint code then, aye. Otherwise, go to a local paintshop (for car paint, obviously) and give them your paint code and they mix up a little tub for about a fiver. Your paintcode should be on the VIN plate or on a sticker somewhere in the car. VAG cars are usually in the boot under the carpet.

Please post photos after you are done, it's going to be a disaster but i'm up for a bit of comedy today.

Thank you, but comments like that are uncalled for so next time you want to be a smart a*se go do it somewhere else.

Try a bit of colour magic or something 1st before you go trying to paint it.

If you dont already own a machine polisher, by the time you fill a scratch with paint, then buy a polisher, you might as well get it painted properly or a smart repair.
