The cigarette lighter socket fuse on my mondeo has gone, so I'm trying to remove the glove box to replace it, but can't seem to get it out. I've disconnected the damper but can't seem to get the hinges to disengage. I've watched a couple of videos on youtube but they just suggest pulling it which doesn't seem to budge it. It feels like it's still attached somewhere so won't pull out. Am I missing anything really obvious?

Thanks

removed mine a million times, very very easy

you done the first thing (damper)
now you need to pinch in each side and pull it towards you so the stoppers pop out
then the glove box will fall forward but is still connected via two plastic clips, you simple pull it straight out towards you, they can be tight but will let go with a bit of force

- one thing you might also need to disconnect the aux input if your glovebox has one (right hand side)

Sorry, should have said I did the squeeze inward to release the clips. I may need more force, I'll try that in the morning but didn't want to force it too much as I didn't want to break the plastic clips.

How does one disconnect the aux input? I presume you mean the wire at the back, rather than anything I have plugged into it

Thanks

if you have the stoppers pulled out and its now just on the plastic clips which are either side of the glove box in the bottom corners then yeah just give it a good tug, they will pop out, sometimes its easier to do one at a time. As for the aux input just be careful not to forget its connected when you pull the box out, the cable is fairly long but can snag a bit, to disconnect it just unplugs.
