There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
Hey Folks,

After some plumbers tips, im in the middle of decorating a room, and wanted to take off an old radiator to get to the wall behind, easy enough normally, but this mofo seems have to have some concrete in the joints, i cannot get it to budge, im guessing its some old school pipe jointing putty/paste? i can use brute force, but i guess i'll end up ripping the pipe out at the same time, and end up with a very disaproving wife! so what are my options, is there any sort of penetrating fluid that can be used or what else?

Basically help me!! :p

Tapping the joint lightly with a spanner may help or using a bit of heat from a gas bottle ( if you have one ) on the nut. Make sure when you are undoing the nut that you hold the radiartor valve with some grips so it wont turn.

I thought id give wd40 a go before i got the torch out, and i must say do the uses for WD40 ever end :p

Cheers guys :)

I did this in our front room... Almost tore the valve off the top and would have flooded the place!

Did heat work?
