As you can see, the above picture has been spoiled by drops of rain on the lens. It seems to have produced a few bright spots particularly around the centre of the image.

Can I remove these using photoshop? How do I go about it? I have the full size original if anyone wants to have a crack at it themselves.

Thanks :)

You could try using the spot healing brush tool (j) and zoom into the spots and simply click it, not sure if it will work, but has worked well on bits of dust on some of my images.

Nice pic btw.

Edit: only click once or it messes up.

That's a damn good job Alex. How did you do it? I have a full size version here that I want to get printed and need to fix it too.

Used the selection tool to select the rain spots, then i used the levels tool to make it slightly darker, desaturated it slightly, then used the clone brush to get rid of the obvious circular line all the way around.

Used the burn tool. Set it to just about larger diameter than the blobs, and a lowish exposure ~20%, shadows with a hardness of 40%. Just adds contrast that's missing due to the rain spots. I had a similar situation last week where I'd smeared my ND grads, and destroyed a tree on the horizon. A bit of burning later and it was fine.

The result isn't perfect, but adjusting the exposure will give better results.

I had a crack at removing the spots and smoothing out the road a bit as the lighter patch at the bottom right was distracting. Here's what I've come up with. It isn't perfect but I think it's an improvement on the original.

Looks good to me :)

Just seen your website - don't waste much flippin' time do you?! :p

I still haven't got my backside in gear and done my own. 18 months and I haven't bothered. It's my main new years resolution, so I still have 9 months...

Website looks good BTW. What did you use to create it, and who are you using for hosting?

No beating around the bush here! :p

I didn't actually do the website, a mate of mine who does it for a living did it for me as a favour. I got my hosting from www.siteground.com , they do an amazing deal with more bandwidth and storage space than you'll ever need for peanuts.

Blimey, they do have some good prices there, I need to get round to making one, I like the templates in Adobe Lightroom as you can make a complete flash website from them.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but is there anyway to fix this photo?

Obviously the sun ruins it and is there any process to help try to hide it?
