Removing Ram or Heat spreader ?

would removing either a stick or ram or even taking the head spreaders off all the ram make any difference to my CPU temps in respect of the CPU Cooler being very close to my ram ?

my CPU ( FX-4100 @3.60GHz ) ...Temps hang around about 33c when idle

33c Idle is perfectly fine, I get 33c on my FX-4170 @ 4.6Ghz idle, thats with cool and quiet disabled so its at 4.6Ghz all the time.

How high does it get when stress testing? 65c Is about as high as I would let it go on these chips.

Mine tops out at 57c while stress testing at 4.6Ghz but thats watercooled. Buy a H80

Its quieter, cooler and you would be able to get 4.6Ghz easy out of it

well the system is pretty quiet actually and its like 2feet away from me ( its on the desk ) ...as goes stress testing ...never done it

.....although i do have a DVD( got it with a copy of PC PRO ) with AIDA64 ?

Nah use Prime95, set it to Blend test, its free
