Hey. It's been a while since I mucked about with ROMs. I'm clearing out old phones and want to recycle my old HTC Desire, but I installed Mildwild ROM on it many moons ago. I can get into Recovery (ext4 touch recovery) but can't for the life of me remember what to do to reinstall the original/vanilla ROM. CAn I just wipe it etc. easily?

If I go to backup/restore I have the following image to restore which doesn't seem right:

1980-01-06.01.03.41_unknown

Thanks..

From memory I think you need to download the stock ROM from somewhere - been a looong time since I messed around with rooting on my Desire tho!

I've have a poke around on the XDA Developers forum - I'm sure there is a thread in there somewhere that can point you in the right direction!

You need to find the right RUU file for your phone as that will contain the stock image. Depending on the RUU requirements sometimes you can just flash it with no problems, but if the RUU fails then usually you need to downgrade the hboot first before attempting to flash the RUU again.

Seeing as you already downgraded the hboot, flashing the RUU is the last step and should be pretty simple. The RUU should be an exe file that will do the work for you. If it's in zip format however then you will need to boot your phone in fastboot RUU mode and manually flash it with fastboot commands.

Where are you recyling, from my experience Mazuma Mobile couldn't give a good.

They had my HTC Wildfire, Galaxy S2 and my Note 3 all of which we're running cyanogenmod. All I've ever done is wipe the data and internal storage
