Can anyone tell me how to remove security tags on clothes?

I brought a pair of trousers from tesco a few months back; as a tend to buy all my years worth of work clothes in one go.. now about 4 months later I notice the security tag not been removed.. I have no proof of purchase due to time its taken for me to notice plus tesco is miles away... is it safe to use a screw driver and force it off as its the non ink tags?

Have you got a mate who works in a shop?
Or im pretty sure they use a strong magnet so you could try that.

I used a hammer and a small screwdriver to split the plastic at the little bump in the middle. 2 hard taps and the pin pips right out.

my mate works at a store that uses magnet tags he says he will try to remove it...

my missus took one look at it this morning and said use a screw driver; she works in a shop as well but they use ink one at her store... she says its a non ink one but she was half a sleep when I asked her about it. the tag is really quite small I may just cut a slot and pull it out.

Interestring. Always assumed it worked using a strong magnet, but nice to see exactly how.

I bought a pair once that had a tag still attached. I just got a plastic carrier bag, made a hole and put the tag through just in case it was ink, then got my dads sledgehammer... came off in a second or two and no damage to the clothes.

People!! come on, all the stores I can nick from, why on earth would I sell a cheap pair of trousers from tescos that I was planning to wear soley for work.

Now whos in for heisting the big casino opening in Coverty on opening day with me? :D

I took it down to tescos, smiled at the nice girl then she just removed it... :D

she didn't asked anything.

You can do what I did when they forgot to remove them from a belt I bought from River Island (I still had the receipt but town is about 15 minutes away on a bus):

Keep bending the two parts backwards and forwards, like with a piece of wire, it eventually snaps in half. :)

I stole a few pairs of trousers from tesco today; I notice that a security tag is attached to them.. I have no proof of purchase due to them being stolen... I tried using a screwdriver, but the ink cartridge burst and ruined one pair. How can I remove the security tag without bursting the ink?

:D :D :D :D
