There's no way mines comming out the conventional spanner as it's nicely rounded now. What are my options bar taking it to a garage?

I take it you mean the sump drain plug?

Either a set of MoleGrips (self locking pliers), or a pipewrench will shift it.

Been there.

If you have any access to welding equipment, weld an old spanner or bar to it. Remember to grease up the new one :)

Yeah thats the one, it's a right stubborn *******

Tried a pipewrench and it's just mangled it even more.

djbenjo: that's a crazy idea, shame I don't have any access :p

You did have the pipewrench the right way around did't you? ;)

Try it again, i've never found an exposed nut/bolt that a set of stilsons wouldn't remove.

Then try the hammer/socket method.

If nothing else works, drill it out, small hole to drain the sump, then larger and larger bits until all you have left is the metal in the threads which you can pull out with a screwdriver.

I sure as hell wouldn't go hammering sockets on to sump nuts. That sounds like your just asking for a hole in your sump, they're only quite thin metal. I'd go with the mole grips personly.

that has happend 2 me 2x just take it to a real cheap place that will change the oil for £15 and let them have the fun and games with it and then change it when u come home and put the good stuff in :P that is what i do gets on my wick when it happens!
