Removing solder from Sli Bridge

I have Zotac 2 GTX 980Ti's on a Asus Rampage V Extreme, and currently use the ribbon SLi bridge.
I have looked into getting one of the ROG Enthusiast SLI Bridge, but I would need the 3 way one because of the distance between card 1 and 2 as the 2 way one is to small. But I have a 3 way one that came with Mother board, and that does not fit because of the top cards fan housing catches on the middle of the middle set of connectors.
I have looked to see if there is a solution, the only ones that I can come up with are 1) taking a Stanley and carefully split the middle connections to make the room.
Or 2) Get someone with a steady hand to remove the solder and take the middle set out. Is this possible?

What doe the ROG bridge offer over the one that your using atm? Is it just for looks or is there another reason you want to swtich to it?

I want the area around that part of my build smartened up. I currently have a SLi bridge that is bent in the middle, and looks cheap.
The ROG or something similar would do the job

Plus i have spent a fortune on my rig.
