Removing speckles of tar, etc on side skirt

Basically after washing the car the other day noticed quite a lot of speckles of tar and other crap that obviously didn't wash off, what should I use to remove these speckles and clean the sides up a little.

Clay bars are very good at this. Got the tar speckles off my dads car very easily.

White spirit or WD-40 are both effective, ghetto style solutions. I WD-40ed mine around the wheelarches last time I cleaned it, and it came up fine.

Last time i cleaned my car my boots advantage card got used to get off the specks of tar, worked rather well!

Brake Cleaner spray is also very good.... but only use small amounts
