I got a new motherboard recently from another etailer and the idiots at MSI stuck stickers all over it, including the 3rd pci express x16 socket. Unlike the other stickers which peeled off nicely it ripped and some of it got into the socket. How do I clean it safely?

I was thinking sticky stuff remover on a cotton swab, or an ethonal based cleaner of some sort, but do any of you have any better ideas?

Should really send it back but I'll be without a computer while doing so.

Was it the Use of this socket is only suggested on use of an Ivy Bridge Processor on the lower PCI-E socket, if so mine did exactly the same. Rest off fine that was a nuisance but some tactical rubbing got it off as far as I know. If its just left the paper on the top it wont have gone down into the socket and it should be fine if you can get it off.

Is it Intel or AMD socket?

Intel, but it's not the CPU socket, fortunately. It's the lowest PCI-E.

Exactly, except on mine some fell into the socket. :(

Hmm awkward with it going down into the socket, I must have got lucky, god knows why they decided to make that sticker out of diff paper.
Id try something in the socket to see if it works as it should tbh and either working something in and out to dislodge the paper if it causes a connection issue.
Or if its just a little bit just pull it out with some tweezers or something if you can still see a bit of it.
