removing subtitles

i don't really know i can disable them in power dvd but i want to remove them as they are in dutch and german which i don't need. do you know any software to do it?

You can't change anything directly on a DVD. You can copy the DVD and not copy the subtitles - is that what you mean? If that's the case then (obviously) it's a waste of time and money, and why would you bother? Even if you're just in the process of creating a DVD and want to save space, removing subtitles doesn't save much.

couldn't agree more

didn't know what you were asking at first

If they're burnt on, you can't. But if they're computer generated just disable them. If they're computer generated it will have a .sub/.idx or another file with the same name.

Some avi's have computer generated subs, others burnt. Same for DVD's. ie LOTR has burnt in elf, but English & other languages are DVD player generated, and can be disabled.

alc, you can kind of blur them out, but it'll look crap, once they're in a video, it 'forgets' what's behind the text (basically been painted over) you can get programs to blur/smudge the surrounding area, but it looks naff

-also, make sure you dont have a subtitle file in the same folder as the video (it might not be embedded in the video and could just be reading it from the folder and masking it on top!)
