Removing thermal paste

What is the best way to remove thermal paste from my CPU as I am about to add an after market cooler to it.

I heard of people using alcohol from tescos to remove it

Hey guys. Just in the process of taking my CPU cooler off. I have heated the CPU up by running the PC for 5 min but it's really hard to remove. It's almost lick it is glued on. I dont want to pull too hard incase i break the mobo

Done it. If it had broken it would have been a good excuse to move to intel. Just used a kitchen towel and it seemed to work very well.
