Removing vista directorys

hiya all just trying to get rid of vista off my hard drive partition I have managed to fix the boot record so its not asking me to choose what windows I want to run but i cant seem to delete the directorys windows seems to either class them as system files or just gives me access denied also tried deleting them in knoppix to no avail

I have other files on the hard drive so an easy formats out of the question

clicked on the change settings tab then clicked delete vista boot loader

Thanks, you could move all files to diff parition, format that partition with Vista in, then copy them all back. That's what I did, but I didn't have many files, just music and pictures.

You need to take ownership of the folders:
