Removing wallpaper tips

I'm looking to remove the wallpaper, get my walls skimmed then paint over the walls.

First step is to remove the wallpaper. On the ceiling I got paper with a design and then it is painted on twice. This will probably be the most obstinate of tasks.

What are your wallpaper removing techniques?

what can I get to speed up my process? (for all you chemists out there)

mustard? lol

wallpaper steamer is a good idea but only would need it once

sponge/hotwater/soap?

could work though. I'll get my iron out then it is the paint on the wallpapered ceiling that is going to be tough.
