Removing windows 8 - put windows 7 on.

Yes... but not quite. I dislike the "flat" icons, they have no depth. And I miss Aero. If it could be made to look just like W7 I would probably switch.

My motherboard only supports a maximum of 12GB anyway so thats not an issue. Unless I'm running Skyrim with umpteen HD texture mods and Opera with a 100+ tabs open at the same time I don't have an issue with running out of ram tbh.

I don't have a problem with change per se I went from Windows 95 to 98SE, but I avoided ME because it clearly wasn't an improvement, I did use 2000 but XP was the big improvement, I avoided Vista because it clearly wasn't a fundamental improvement but switched to Seven because it was. I don't feel 8 is a fundamental improvement over 7, although it's different alright.

You could use Oblytile to make the tiles better looking,Aero is not needed IMHO and is a battery hog,eye candy at best, besides not hard to get Win8 looking great,as to ME well it had no real change over 98SE IMHO,Vista did with regards to XP ie better in many ways and some new features like your favourite ie Aero, but the big improvement was how sound drivers were handled in software mode etc to reduce BSOD also security improvements.

I don't want Windows to end up like Win7,reason being Win95 to Win7 is more then long enough, rather see a whole new redesign of OS in Win9,10 then going back to the old ways which was really only designed for desktop users.

Is 8 an improvement over 7?...In many ways yes it is,you have to look further then just as a desktop user which I'm afraid to say is not as important as desktop users use to be in the old days, time changes, hardware changes and Win7 or the OS you could say needed to change to keep up with the modern times,Win8 is just the start of that change that desktop users have to accept,we are(desktop users) becoming relics of the past time to accept that.

Things I like about Win8,speed, freebies in store ,security improvements including built-in AV ,newer DX for gamers, able to handle any type of hardware, free upgrade to Win8.1,real change from Win95 to Win7(overdue in my books),reset and refresh options etc..great price only 25 quid,I could go on but won't bore you .

I can accept as a desktop user I'm no longer king on the block and modern OS nowadays has to be made for ALL hardware,if I can accept that why can't some people ,disliking an OS is one thing but accept even desktop users have to change with the times sooner or later.

I can remember when I said I would never use a tablet,now I've an Android tablet lol,well goes to show :) .
