Rename Tool

Hi

I'm sorting out my photos and such like and a lot of them are labelled as follows:

IMG_0091.jpg
IMG_0091.mp4

I'd like a utility that can rename them to be a little more informative but it has to have some intelligence in there to know that if the above got renamed to say: Family_Party_0001 then the MP4 would have to also be a 0001 just so I know it references the same thing. Is there any tool out there that can do it ?

Not sure if you want something more complex but..Select all the files > Right click > Rename > type a name > all files will be renamed to <Name> (001).jpg, Name (002).jpg, Name (003).jpg and so on.

So you could select all the files that are to do with Family_Party, right click them, rename them, and all the files will use the same name but with files using the same extension using (001), (002). Where it falls down a bit is if files use different extensions as then you can get Family_Party.mp4, Family_Party (001).jpg, Family_Party (002).jpg, Family_Party.png, etc, etc.

https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/ is what I use for renaming files. It has so many options you might be able to suss a way to make it do your thing.

Unfortunately Powertoys doesn't do what I want - that was my first call. I'll have a look at the rest - thanks!
