Renaming TV Episodes

media center master has a tv section, but have only ever used it for films so cant say how good it will be. worth a try though.
TheRenamer has two modes. movies (Blue theme) & tvShows (green theme).
You toggle between the two by clicking in the centre on 'movies' or 'tvshows'. Make sure you're in 'tvshows' mode. In tvshows mode click on the bottom right to cycle to 'EPGUIDES' for database search.
I set my folders up as follows for tv;
TV > "Show Name" > Season 01 > rippedfiles.avi
After ripping just drag & drop the 'Show Name' folder into TheRemaner in tvshows mode.
It helps if the rippedfiles are named/ structured according to Season & Episode
e.g. 'House_S0101' for Season 01 Episode 01

Once TheRemaner has done it's thing, I then use 'metabrowser' to gather EP data like box art actors etc.

Think i know where i have gone wrong with TheRenamer, i have ripped the episodes like TV Show folder - Episode 1.mkv ect, i guess i need to manually rename them with the show name and series instead of just Episode ... ahwell only a couple of thousand episode to rename

You shouldnt need to include the actual show name for them to be renamed as long as the series and episode numbers are there.

i only saved them as there episode number so every software i tried couldn't recognize the episode title.
Managed to rename a few episodes and ran through therenamer and works perfect.
You could try SickBeard, I use that along with SABnzbd and CouchPotato.
SickBeard has auto rename function built into it. If you only want to use it for the renaming function, Just click "Add Existing Shows" select the location and vola.
Make sure the folder structure is as follows:
\Show Name\Season 01\blahblah E01.mkv
If the episode is a special, then it must be in "Season 00" folder.
It grabs the details from thetvdb so as long as it's on there, it'll grab the info.
EDIT: I just tried the following as you said you only named it by Episode number.
Sure enough it renamed it to the following:
"Showname - S05E01 - Episode 1.avi"
So it should be just what your looking for.

EDIT: I just tried the following as you said you only named it by Episode number.
- Renamed an episode to E01.avi
- re-scan the folder
- made it re-name the episodes
Sure enough it renamed it to the following:
"Showname - S05E01 - Episode 1.avi"
So it should be just what your looking for.

+1 - This is the setup I use and works brilliantly! I do use Media Center Master for tagging/renaming films though (prefer it to CP rename/tagging, still use CP though..)
