Anybody know the size of the speakers in the back of an old Rentault 5?

/edit not that old '94

And how hard the headgasket replacement is? its the 1.4 if that makes any big difference?

cheers all~!

I think it's a pushrod engine so the headgasket is easy peasy to change. Take the water pipes off the head and drain the radiator, intake and exhaust manifolds off, rocker cover off, rocker gear off, number the pushrods 1 to 8 front to back so they go back in the same place, head off (might need a bash to get it to shift), scrape all the old headgasket off so both surfaces are clean, new headgasket on, head on, torque up the bolts in the correct order, re-assemble the rest in the reverse order you took it all off with new gaskets. You buy a 'head set' usualy which is the rocker cover gasket, intake and exhaust gaskets, thermostat gasket and the headgasket all in one pack.

If you've never done one before then allow a few hours and buy a torque wrench to do the head bolts with. Since you're considering doing this job yourself the torque wrench will almost certainly get used again in the future :)

On the R5 pushrod engine i think you have to leave the center head stud in (loosen slightly) and move the head around a little to free it from the liners. If you just lift of the head you will probably un-seat the cylinder liners and your coolant will end up in the sump.
Just follow a manual eg Haynes, and you'll be ok.

cheers for the heads up (pun intended!) I'll be doing this job alongside my friendly local mechanic hopefully but just intrigued what I was letting myself in for. Only done one headgasket before and that was on a big old ford but as I'll just be doing the preliminary and finishing work not really any bother.

So this beast is pushrod powered? didn't know that!
