Hi all,

For the past month i have had the 30 day reminder to get a service on my dashboard. Today the 30 days is up but now I have an orange warning light with a spanner on it. Having looked it up online it indicates a serious fault. Anyone know if this is correct or is it something to do with the service reminder having gone past the 30 days.

Any info most welcome

Pick up an OBD reader if for some reason you're avoiding taking the car to a garage for a service

thanks for some of the fantastic and useful answers.

What I was asking is has the spanner light come on to let me know that the service reminder has run out or was it actually telling I have a major fault on the car that has nothing to do with the service reminder.

AS it happens our local garage was working late and he has assured me it was just to do with the service requirement. So nothing to worry about
