Renault Twingo: Can't open boot with engine running.

I've been taking my mum's Twingo out for runs as it's not being used much and noticed that the boot wont open via the keyfob with the engine running.

Is this standard on this car? Seems a bit of a faff. I can't find a physical button on the exterior to open it either.
 
I'm not fussed about the extenal button but to be unable to open the boot without first turning off the engine seems inconvenient.
