Hi, I'm new to the forums. I would like some opinions on the pc I'm building. The programs that I will be running are 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, Adobe Master Collection CS4 and so on...I might also run a few games on it XD

PC Components:

CPU:
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz (Bloomfield)

VGA:
Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3

RAM:
Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel

PSU:
Corsair TX 850W ATX SLI Compliant Power Supply

Hard disk:
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II

Case:
Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two

One thing I'm not certain about is, will the 480 fit in the case? I'll greatly appreciate all opinions and help :)

Thanks and Regards.

More Ram does not necessarily = faster rendering. More RAM will enable you to fit a more complex scene in memory, so page file isn't fallen upon for help = stability more than speed.

Depending on what you're doing 6GB will probably be ok. I'd either o/c that chip or buy a bundle or something.

i'd advise against that power supply with that case, go for something modular, less cables to hide :)

isn't a modular psu less stable voltage wise than a non modular one? at least that's what I've read on a bunch of reviews. apart from the fact that the 902 has got cable management system so shouldn't be a great problem ;)

btw like the components chosen mate ;)

As mentioned ram wont result in faster renders, it just means you could have a more complex scene without a crash.
