Hi all,

I was looking to turn my current machine into a rendering rig for After Effects.

Here's what I currently have:

|| Intel 4670K @ 4GHz || Corsair H80i || 2x MSI NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB (2 way SLI) || MSI Z87-G45 ||
|| TeamGroup Elite Black 16GB (CAS 11-11-11-28 Timings) || Samsung 840 (250GB) SSD ||
|| Samsung 850 Evo (500GB) SSD || Seagate Barracuda 2TB (7200 RPM) ||
|| SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 750W || BitFenix Shinobi (German Edition) ||

|| 2x Asus VN247H || TT eSports Theron (Black) || Qpad Mk-80 (Blue Switches) ||
|| 2013 Astro MixAmp Pro || 2013 Astro A40 ||

The current setup is good however I'd still like to upgrade.

Ideally, I'd like a 'top' spec rig but nothing too insane. What would be your recommendations?

Budget wise, no more than £1.5K, will be rendering quite a lot over the next year or so.

If you named a budget, and your workflow is a massive amount, dual xeons would probably be the way to go. Along with a Quadro or Firepro

In terms of rendering, going to be doing a lot over the next year. I think xeons will be OTT. Not fussed about the rendering GPU's though.

Something like this would be big upgrade for your current rig its got twice the amount of cores and all the ram you will ever need for huge renders. I would have put ecc memory but couldn't find any on here. Lol i didnt read all of what you said if its after effects then you should know its pretty unoptimized so use adobe media encoder instead and this spec here would be more than enough you will rekt those poor after edits or intros.

Total: £1,218.47
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Cheers! What's the difference between X99A and X99M motherboards?

Ones micro atx and ones atx its the size of the mobo I would have linked a atx but none are in stock and this ones cheaper its got enough slots for two gpus and a pci 1x card so as long as you don't need anything else in the pci slots its all good. Its also a workstation board so its super reliable and supports the xeon you need. Its also got built in wifi thats very fast and bluetooth.

What rendering will you be doing?

You can get a cheaper board that does the same thing.
