Just had a new door fitted so I'd now like to have a video doorbell. I don't want to go through the hassle of putting in ethernet or power so looking at the Reolink Wifi (battery) one. Questions I have are:
1. If I get the doorbell can I record to my Synology NAS via surveillance station (Not sure if I also need the hub for this)? Not bothered about 24/7, just for events.
2. Where do I stand regarding privacy laws? I'm in an end terrace with a path in front which goes to the other houses, a 5ft hedge behind that and then some open land mostly used by dog walkers. I'm pretty sure that the camera will trigger when people walk past with their dogs as they walk just behind the hedge.
I'd love to be able to cable everything in and stick to Synology but this seems the easiest way withough drilling through brick etc.
