Repair install

If I reinstall windows xp will I loose all my data, as my computer won't boot

If you reinstall fully without retrieving your data you will lose all of your data.
If you elect to repair the installation then everything will still be there afterwards.

Put the drive into another computer (the one you are on now?) backup the data. Then format and reinstall

Otherwise just repair
