repair mbr WITHOUT WINDOWS XP CD

Is there a utility which will allow me to fix the mbr without having the Win XP cd?

My installation never had any cd to begin with.

If you can get into the command promt then do so and clear it back so it just says

C:\

Then type "fixmbr" with the quotation marks and that will write a new MBR to the HDD
assuming that is your only problem everything will work fine.

It has various tools on it for fixing MBR issues and you should find various hits on how people have used it to fix issues.
