Quick question probably very generic but hoping for some help.

I have an Omen laptop which has a problem charging. Its as if either the port or the wire connector have become faulty as the charging wire does not sit snuggly anymore and i have to tape it in to get it to charge.

Any ideas if its likely to be the port and if so can that be replaced?

Most charging ports can be replaced yes. If it's wiggly it sounds like it's the charging port anyway. Sometimes the charging port isn't soldered on the board and it's a little wire port that can be purchased on ebay usually. Without knowing the model of the laptop I wouldn't know.

Sounds a fairly easy fix. If it is working by tilting the charging cable then I would say 99% it is the socket on the laptop. Either the solder has broke from the motherboard or the contact in it has snapped. Parts will be a couple of pounds then its just a case of cracking open the laptop and replacing.

Thanks, im assuming the part is generic? Ill have a google and seeif its easy to fix and purchase.

At the minute its working as if taped it tight at a certain angle for it to power up and charge!
