I have an old Laptop, 3 years now, it's a Toshiba Satellite.

It needs a new Hard-disk (partitions are screwed, I can't fix it) and some RAM from 256 to 512 I would like.

Is it worth doing and what parts do I need?

Any help appreciated. :) Thanks.

Of course it's worth doing! Unless you're finding it so slow that you prefer a new one? :) What's the current spec and model of your Toshiba Satellite? If it's an old model, you'd probably find the RAM costing a slight premium if it's the rare stuff. With regards to Hard Drive - make sure you get the correct interface - IDE/SATA.

What OS do you run on it?

Model No. SA30-203

I can't find any specification on the bugger. :(

It runs XP.

This looks like your model: Satellite A30-203 P4 2.66GHz/X...

Looks like a fairly old model. So it only has a 30GB drive? Definitely put a cheap 120GB in there... it seems the laptop can have up to 2GB RAM. Though it's the old stuff - so it might cost slightly more than the DDR2 stuff we have nowadays.
