Repairing corrupt jpeg files?

I have recovered some jpeg files off my digital camera, and windows provides a thumbnail view of the full image, but I always get the message "drawing failed", when I try to view the images. When I open them in a seperate image editing program, I only get the top half of the picture. Is it possible to reconstruct the file in some way?

try using photorec (freeware) to re-recover them from the memory stick

it specialises in photo recovering..

never had to use it myself, but i've used testdisk (by the same guys) to recover a partition that i deleted by accident -never install windows when drunk
