Hello,

A friend of mine has damaged her printer's USB B socket.

The plastic part in the middle of the socket has been ripped out.

Is there any easy way around this problem. She just spent £40 on new ink for the thing thinking that was the problem.

It's a HP PSC all-in-one. USB is the only interface.

Thanks.

It'd most likely involve disassembling the think to get the board that the usb socket is on out, and unsoldering it and replacing with one either canibalised out a piece of old hardware, or sourced from an electronics supply house

RS Components sell the surface mount USB sockets, as ive looked for them in the past. They do sell to the public as i have ordered things from them in the past.
