I've got a 500gb external hard drive which is currently partitioned into 100gb HFS+ for SuperDuper backup and the rest HFS+ for media.

Now I don't really need 100gb for my backup, so I want to reduce this to 80gb.

If I use disk utility to resize it to 80gb, will it affect my data on either partition or is it to ok ?

Thanks

I dont think you can non destructively repartition with disk utility - or at least that was true with Tiger. With Boot camp you can repartition on the fly non destructively... that power of Bootcamp may be included with the Leopard Disk Utility. Dunno.

Yeah i wouldnt trust this one bit.

I had a 500gb NTFS, which i wanted to shrink to 400 and have 100 HFS for mac stuff.
So away i went, simply resizing the NTFS, lo and behold the piece of **** formatted my old partition, losing 3 years of work movies tv and music. Absolutely ruddy gutted.

If both partitions are HFS+ formatted then I can't see any issues to be honest
