Repasting my GPU

If the card is out of warranty or the manufacturer allows the removal of the cooler then I would suggest giving it a go. The paste used by factories is often not as good as the better aftermarket pastes and in some cases can be badly applied (too much or insufficient coverage). Removing the cooler also gives you the opportunity to give it a thorough clean getting rid of any dust build-up which will be reducing the its effectiveness.

Gelid is a good one to use as it's not electronically conductive and there are some pins around the GPU which you'd want to avoid linking with a conductive paste, it's what I use on my CPUs and GPUs with good results.

My card is an EVGA 780ti classy, I'm pretty sure EVGA are very leinent and as long as i have the stock cooler on the card they still will take it. Am i right in saying ill be under warranty still? When I RMA'ed my first card I did it without stock BIOs on it and they didnt care.

Why not try some of that new thermal grizzly stuff it is purported to be the godly one right now.

Go on price, for mst any of the "best" pastes there is at most 1C difference
I'm sure its great stuff for LN2 benchers, but for air cooled it makes no difference

If the OP already has gelid on hand then just use that

Ages ago I used to use nail Polish remover, also used rubbing alcohol but finished off with the Artic cleaning kit. Reminds me need to order another cleaning kit as the one I have is almost gone.

Forgot to update last night. Repasted and everything's good. Full load temps dropped by about 7 but my room also felt a lot warmer when I benched the second time. But I'm peaking at 75 now.
