Currently have a Virgin SH2 and we live in flats so the signal doesnt really reach the far room. All we need is basic signal for internet browsing really and SD streams~. I have a spare Linksy router (WRT160N) and put ddwrt on it but cant get it to work (not picking up wan ip). Any one can shed some light?

Couldn't you just get some Coax extension and put the SH somewhere more central?

I've never used dd-wrt so can't help on that front sorry :(

I'd say Powerline would be your best bet.

SH2 -> powerline -> powerline -> WRT160N

change your WRT160N to be an access point.

Who's ever room the Linksy is in can plug into it via Ethernet, everyone else can connect via wireless.

I forgot about PL adapters, yeah this is a good idea for basic browsing and SD streaming.

You'll gain some massive latency and significantly slower speeds when interfacing through both the adapter and the Linksys though, so bear that in mind.
