Replace Antec P180?

Hi Guys,

I have started looking for a replacement case for my aging, scratched and dented P180. Important things i want to maintain are sound proofing and size. I'd also like good cable management from the new case. Oh, and it has to look nice too.

Any suggestions?

Excuse the crap pics, but I hadn't noticed my son had been playing about with the camera and all my P-280 build pics are wrecked.:(

The Good:

Looks like the P-182 only more up to date with subtle styling changes, a grown up case without the daft designs!

Tough, very well built and packaged with no blemishes/scratches.

Very easy to work with.

I have a huge amount of cables behind the MB and I just left them and simply closed the panel over without spending ages sorting them out!

The Bad: Front cover is grey, should have been all black imo, but it goes down to personal taste.

The Usb3 cable is to short(if you want to totally conceal it) if your Usb3 port sits half way along the bottom of the MB.

Could have done with a nother couple of cut outs along the very top of the MB tray.

The front 2 fan mounts could have ever so slightly wider holes for rubber fan mounts, I ended up sniping a touch off the notch on the Akasa rubber mountings so they might snap when I remove the fans for a clean.

thanks a bunch guys. Its been such a long time since i have done anything with my case i didnt realise that Antec were still in the market.

I may well take a punt on this one as i simply LOVE Antec's styling.

BigLee, I'm the same as you. There's no other brand that does understated styling like Antec. ( Fractal can do one with their copies)

I myself have a P180 with all the battlescars gained with 4 years of uni, and was highly considering going 183 v3, but then the 280 came out which had me coo'ing like a woman over her friends baby.
 
Guys please help me choose, building new system more then months by now. Almost got all the components now, just final choise - case.

I have now P182, which I'll sell complete so need new case. Something similar to P182 succesor? Good cable managament, quiet, nice air flow.

If it wasn't for the 550D, I'd say the P280 straight away. But I'm waiting for the reviews on the Corsair to see if it beats the Antec on cooling and accoustics.

So far for me The 550D wins on external looks, but the P280 wins on internal layout :confused:
