I have a dell 2405fpw its served me very well indeed, its used 90% of the time for games but im looking at maybe getting a newer monitor, if i remeber the dell wasnt cheap when i bought it but then no lcd's were like they are now in comparison.

Basiclly will i notice much of any improvement in picture etc if i bought the samsung that is on offer this week only, is it worth my while or should i hang onto my 2405.

Or even something like the Sm2494Hm which is a little bit dearer

You wont see any improvement with either of those screens as they use TN panels, so somewhat of a downgrade from your 2405.

As a modern equivalent of the 2405 with a slight upgrade in image you should be looking at either of these;

To be honest though, if your 2405 is still working fine then stick with it.
