Hi all,

I see many posts for someone to build them a computer, love it and you all know so much more than I ever could so im here for some assistance.

My budget is kinda loose, its anywhere from 600 can push it though if good reason... on purely a tower, no monitor, mouse, keyboard needed... just the OS and Tower.

Basically, I have a mac book with the intel 4000 onboard card and theres 2 issues with that already, MAC compatibility and bad graphics. Im not a hard-core gamer, I don't play all the latest big graphic games but I do play WOW, DayZ, Magika, Minecraft and so on. (all are multiplayer with my mates) none of which are high GFX but my FPS sucks.

I want something that plays these games and future games like these at good GFX with good FPS and I wont need to replace it every year. Ideally quiet and space saving but not if it impacts the price or performance too much.

A build and a few comments to encourage me why would be amazing.

Much respect all.

Si

Wow, fast responses - thank you.

I am likely going to choose some-ones build on here and just order it all :) look forward to see who else gives an input.

p.s: I have windows 8 trial running at the moment on my Mac Mini (Boot camp) great idea to save the cash now and I can activate it in a few months.

AMD do well at the budget end. Whilst I have spec'd an i5 it is the slowest i5 paired to an average motherboard. Idle's spec has the AMD cpu mated to a better motherboard with overclocking potential, but you're compromising on the CPU performance particularly single threaded applications, of which the games you mention all are.

Having said that, both specs will perform well in games when mated with a decent graphics card. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that either will be fine.

I do prefer the idea of intel after reviews online, I am liking your build and as I am losing the windows for now and will get in a month or so I was thinking about sticking the card up to a 270x? or is there little difference to the 270?

Might make an order in the morning :)

I guess I could if I could change my monitor cable completely... the limitation is the monitor has cables which cannot be changed... on the end of these unchangeable cables is the MDP only cable.

Idleman, thank you so much for all your help. I have ordered the machine for 655.50.

I was happy because you made an intel build with the 270x and no windows. Better machine than I could have thought up, thank you again.

Thank everyone else who has also messaged me today and yesterday. Much appreciated everyone.

Ok last thing, my system has arrived... im at work and ready to get home to build it.

Before I go guns blazing, when i collect the kit on the way home will there be any info on the heat sink part as when i was a tad younger and into building these I had to use paste and so on. I now build servers and enterprise systems so lost touch with the home PC builds.

Cheers.
