when we were getting our orangery done, i had the smart idea to get the company to replace the single glazed windows at the rear of our garage, to nic wide double french doors. all great, however i then converted half the garage to an office.

what's really annoying is not having the ability to have a window a little open. I either have the door open, or nothing, which in summer is not great as the room gets hot, but i don't feel like I can relax comfortably with the door open and someone able to sneak in on me at 1am with the blind covering the door.

was hoping someone may know of a replacement for one of the doors to have a window within it too?

the left door is the one we use, the right side, i'd still ideally keep as a door, but have a window within it.

anything exist?

There’s so many different manufacturers you’ll never find a replacement.

Easiest would be replacing a glass unit with half a glass unit then some sort of ventilation in the glass.

We have pretty much the same issue with French doors as kitchen doors but it was the idea of the previous owners to have it like this!

We still want the double sized access to the garden and a window guy said a replacement door pane with working window was possible but wouldn't be cheap. At the moment it's as far as we've gotten.

Open the door a couple of millimetres and then crank the handle up as if to lock the door, it should stay shut with a small gap and will need th handle taking right down before.it will be openable.

Why are you a key target for a hitman? :p

WAs gonna say locklatch, not the prettiest but does the job.
Failing that I know there are companies that will remove a window casette(?) so that you can have petflaps added. Done see why they wouldnt be able to make up a new frame to fit in it with a window in?
