Hi All,

Currently stuck on what to do with my rig. Currently have the below:
i7-970 3.2Ghz
12Gb
2x Zotec 670 2GB in SLI
ASUSTek P6X58D-E

Think of replacing the CPU, Board and Mem with the below:
ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming Intel
Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz
HyperX Fury Black 16GB

And keeping the GPU's for now. Will i get much gain?

^^+1. I'd just grab a 980Ti and throw it in there if you're after gaming performance. Not sure whether that i7 will bottleneck it slightly, but you'll still see more of a difference than if you just upgraded your CPU.

hmmmm not sure if my budget will go to a 980ti

I'd just wait for Pascal then tbh, which should hopefully be with us within a few months. We may even get to see it at GTC in 5 days time. My guess is the 1080 (or whatever they end up calling it) will be faster than the 980Ti and probably a bit cheaper. Gives you some time to save up for its release.

If you can't push your budget, then just get the best GPU you can afford.
