Replace powerline with mesh

I currently have a broadband router , connected to a powerline adapter via cat5. At the other end of the house I have a powerline adapter connected to my PC via cat 5. Could I replace the powerline adapters with a mesh system? To clarify, this is just for one connection ( router to pc). I'm not able to run hardwire all the way from one to t'other. The PC doesn't have wifi.

Thanks for replies. At the moment the powerline speed isn't bad. Less than line speed at the router but we're only on 52mbs phone line.

The problem is RFI noise. Managed to nail it in the studio but my hifi (despite tacima mains block and shielded cables) still chirps and farts in the background. Don't want to add wifi to the PC in the studio as that gives problems with latencies... I have tried a USB wifi adapter but it was pretty flaky so something that I could go wired from the PC would be great....

Also, upgrading to gigabit later this year. So will need to upgrade link between PC and router then anyway.....

@Beans to toast dave how's the speeds on the mesh? My main use for net on the PC it to upload and download media and audio files for work but also some remote recording....
