Hi,

Just a quick question, I need to replace the rj45 connector on one end of a belkin cat5e patch cable. I have all the tools needed but not sure which standard pinout to use? I know it is either 568a or 568b. I'm guessing it's the latter but would like to get it right first time.

Cannot easily replace the cable as it pretty much inaccessible without taking floor boards up in several rooms.

Thanks

I've never seen one wired with a. All the dozens if cables I've used, modified or built have been b.

I've only seen B on pre made cables.

Back in the dark ages you used to need cross wired cables to link hubs/switches together, modern kit is now auto sensing.

The chances are if you did mix standards your router/switch wouldn't mind.
