replace x-fi

Just got some hd 598's and im looking for a new soundcard to replace my x-fi extreme gamer,i was looking at the xonar d1. Any advice apreciated.

Was wanting pci really because of the positioning of the slots on my current board. Looked at the new creatives but heard xonar had better drivers an also the d1 has higher snr.

Had a look but apart from the opamp its worse overall than than the xtreme gamer.

Just bought it second hand four years ago, been a good card and never had any issues with it but just decided it was getting on a bit and wanted to tryout something newer.
